Charlette (Charlie) Bright
California Licensed Midwife (LM) 668
Certified Professional Midwife (CPM)
My journey to midwifery is a tapestry woven from diverse threads: a childhood spent in Minnesota's vibrant holistic healthcare community, formative years spent navigating the rich cultural landscape of California, and a successful two-decade career ending in InfoSec. This unique background has shaped my perspective and values, providing a foundation for my deeply personal and patient-centered approach to midwifery care.

Growing up, my mother's unwavering commitment to natural foods and my father's practice as a holistic chiropractor and acupuncturist instilled in me a profound appreciation for the interconnectedness of physical, mental, and emotional well-being. This holistic lens, combined with my later experiences in California, fostered a deep respect for diverse cultures and perspectives, enriching my understanding of the varied needs and desires of the families I serve.

IMy path to midwifery has been a natural evolution toward a more holistic model of care. Beginning with part-time work in EMS in 2016, I witnessed the importance of immediate, life-saving interventions. As a doula, I focused on nurturing and supporting women through the emotional and physical challenges of childbirth. In 2019, I fully embraced the midwifery path, combining my experiences to offer a truly holistic approach that values the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of each individual throughout their birthing experience

Becoming a midwife wasn't just a career change, it was a calling. I'm passionate about partnering with families during this incredible journey, and I'm always learning and growing to give everyone the best possible care. I love sharing what I know with other midwives and those interested in the field – building a supportive community is key to making sure every birth is amazing. I believe in collaboration, respect, and making sure every family feels empowered and supported throughout their birthing experience.

Vintage
Midwifery
I am a passionate advocate for preserving the history of midwifery through vintage items. My collection includes old midwifery textbooks, equipment, and medicines, each telling a story of the profession's evolution. Through studying these artifacts, I gain insight into the roots of modern practices, inspiring me to integrate traditional techniques with contemporary methods. This blend of old and new enhances my care, fostering a deep connection with my clients. By honoring the past, I create a unique, impactful approach to midwifery, ensuring that the wisdom of previous generations continues to guide and shape my practice for the better.
